Sears (Rating of their Service)

OK. So, we had a bit of a water heater leak on Saturday, of course, a holiday weekend no less. So I look on the side of the tank and there is the # for Sear's. Now keep in mind we rent, so this is new to us. Very nice guy we talked to, said that because we called it in before 12pm it would be in the same day. At this point we have no water all all because the valve to shut the main water off from the hot water heater wasnt working. Paint this pretty picture....2 adults and 1 potty trained child with no toilet, can't wash their hands, or take a shower. NOT GOOD. So the day goes on to the 1-3 hour window I was given and the phone doesn't ring. I call Sears back to be told that thats only applicable Mon-Fri. Thats fine and all, but then you don't hand out the promise on a Saturday. So now we just need to get to Monday..... we would get a call..... Ok, holiday weekend....deep breath.

Thankfully my husband is quite the handy man and we got a new valve so now at least we have cold water. Still not so pleasant for a shower, but we just needed to get to Monday right? So here comes Monday. 10am rolls around and I feel like I should have had a call by now. Call Sears and now I have now been transferred to 3 different people, none more pleasant than the previous and they are telling me that the guy who put the order through never told the installer where to pick up the item. Superb...not an important tidbit or anything. Not it's been 45 minutes of me getting very irritated at the not so intelligent representative on the other end. I get a call from the "resolution center" about 3 hours later and he tells me that its all fine and I would be getting a call from the installer soon and they would have it done today. Tick...tick....tick.....check the phone...tick.....now come 2:30pm, knowing how these places work it's not looking good for a hot shower today. I AGAIN call Sears and now I'm out for blood.

Little chime in....the best part of this whole thing is that within an hour of getting off the phone with the original screwer-upper, my debit card had been charged and my nonservice had been paid for.

I did reach someone who seemed like she wanted to help at one point. She asked me to hold while she found out what they could do for my inconvenience.....15 minutes later she then ended the call without a curtousy warning. I have worked in Customer Service and I kind of know the little phone sounds. So I FINALLY get someone who gives me an actual manager (Imagine being denied a Supervisor? "I'm sorry Ma'am, there is no supervisor on the floor right now." To which I responded, "Ok, then knock on an office door and bring one on the floor.") and he seems to be half way intelligent......until....he says he can give me a $50 gift certificate to Sears (just briliant) or I can call the "Hot Water Heater Hotline," where they have a free instillation program in which because of the situation they would do the install for free. Greatful that he gave me the number "incase I got disconnected," he must have foreseen that he didn't know how to transfer a call because sure enough he hung up on me.

Let's have a popular poll now to who thinks that the "Hot Water HeaterHotline" had any idea what the hell I was talking about? That would be a big NO!!!! I was so mad I could have gone through the phone at the poor girl on the other end, but WTF?!? So................yeah, in the event that I do own the house I seek....I will NEVER...NEVER......NEVER use SEARS!!!!!!!

It a rating of 5 stars, I give them a -5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Independence Day Quotes

Happy 4th of July to all. Please have tons of fun and use your heads!! Saftey first. When did I become such a kill joy? Oh right, about the same time I had kids - lol. Today we celebrate everything we love about our country and hopes are the highest that America will stand the test of time and always be a leading force in this world. Take today to remeber all of those who have given their lives, loved ones, and hearts for us to be able to live the life we do.
For all the innocent lives lost on terrible days such as 9/11 and for the people who are still affected by the blow to America. May it NEVER happen again and may no one EVER forget the way we came together as a country and took care of each other. Take stride each day, especially this one, to be nice to your neighbor, wave to an officer, and to always take care of those you love.

Quote

"We have to understand that the world can only be grasped by action, not by contemplation. The hand is more important than the eye... The hand is the cutting edge of the mind."
- Jacob Bronows
Isn't that what a blog is? Contemplation? I guess I need to stop blogging? LOL - Just kidding, but I do need a good kick in the pants. A swift rear ending (not in my car please) to get me moving and inspired. I have grown to realize what I have and to be greatful for it now, right here today, but I need to start looking at what I want tomorrow. Judging by this quote I suppose I need to stop thinking about it and just try a few things......lets do that and see what happens...join me? What is the one thing you wanted to be "when you grew up?" Is it really too late? Unless it's a ballerina, I think not!!

I suppose I will stay with the dog theme and Angel just looks so cute.......she can finally feel the carpet and it feels so good!!!!!

The Final Goodbye

So I haven't written about the final events to the heartbreaking situation that my friend is going through. Tuesday was the Wake and the Funeral followed on Wednesday. The last few days have been filled with hugs, tears, support, weariness, and laughing. I'm not even sure rollercoaster fits, but close enough.

I went with my friend Amanda and we were just onlookers for most of it, as my friend was surrounded by family. So I watched the whole thing unfold before my eyes and I'm not sure I have ever seen nor do I ever wish to see again one of my friends in so much pain. Pain that a pill will never fix and even time will not erase. It's not fair, there is nothing right about how this all took place. As I have said many times I do believe things happened for a reason and without trying to sound heartless, I have already seen some of those reasons come out. I know without knowing the "whole story" it's hard to even know what I mean, but I'm not about airing a story that doesn't belong to me with such a sensitive subject.

We stood in the back of the church for the Mass and just watched. We watched as people mourned. We watched her 4 year old son slip into the sadness and break down into tears which then lead everyone in attendance to join him. At the closing, they wheeled the casket down the isle and I watched as someone so dear to me, at 9 months pregnant, be held up as she followed her husband out the double doors and be placed in the back of the hearse. All the cars filed to the cemetery and we watched the final goodbyes. The priest blessed him and his family and we all said our final prayers. The priest annointed the casket with Holy Oil, as it beaded up and rolled down the sides, tears rolled down the cheeks of the people who he was closest to and the rest of us for the people he left behind.

I wish nothing but peace for her from now until forever. She will be having a baby, which hopefully I will get to be there for, and her life will go on and He will never be forgotten. I still feel like this is right out of a movie and if it isn't it should be. The only thing missing so far is the happy ending. I hope to report not too far off of the happy ending that will be for my dear friend.

Good Morning....

Hellooooo to you. So this isn't a blog about my relationship, but I suppose it will come up here and there. This is also a new beginning adventure, so not all bashing - lol. From my first posts I have talked about weight loss. It has been a life long struggle for me cycling around and around. In the last year and a half I seem to have conquered quite a few "demons" when it comes to the scale. Although still not ready to admit my weight, since February 2007 I have lost 80 lbs. An accomplishment yes, a boost of confidence yes, and more attention? Well, I don't really know about outside attention, when I am out in about in this world doing my thing I seem to be in my own little world and tend not to be too observant....of topic, anyways, wanted that attention from the hubby. Part of the lack in increase was he never cared when I was fat. It didn't make a difference in the world to him. I was just as beautiful then to him as I am now...problem, I didn't feel that way. Well, turns out as I have attempted to continue the loss, he has finally started understanding what began this journey. That dreaded picture that is taken of you and you look at it and no longer recognize the person in it. First of all, my husband is not fat by any means, but he will be soon if he isn't careful - lol.

He has absolutely no clue what a calorie is, how many you are supposed to eat, what an exercises routine is...it's kinda cute. For once I get to do the teaching instead me trying to understand what the hell he talks about some chip he just bought that you can put in a car and track all the activity for 24 hours and you get to see gas mileage and compressions, and all these other intricate things I would never know what to do with. So we start yesterday and before he got home from work he had 2 Coffee Cake Muffins from Dunkin Donuts.....does that sound like a diet to anyone else? So we start over today....all as a family. Not that the children are going on a diet, but their diet will change. I think there is a little too much sugar running through their veins.

So Andy woke me up this morning so I could make him breakfast (you see what happened when he makes his own food decisions) and then I began my workout. Kids get up right as my show starts...figures...then Ashley always feels the need to hug me while I'm doing crunches, I guess she thinks I need more resistance. Then there is the dogs, Roxy in particular (the beagle), if I were ever stuck in the woods she would be the one I want with me. If I lay on the floor for any reason she comes over and sticks her long snout under the back of my neck to try and help me up. The further forward I am in the crunch the more of her body goes under the back of my neck. So Now I have Roxy trying to support and lift me up and Ashley laying and hugging the front of me and all I want to do is a simple crunch...hahaha....so glad there are no hidden cameras....Everyone does eventually get bored and wonder away leaving the kids to attempt the exercises for themselves. That is always a good laugh. Haley forever does things backwards because she does get the whole opposite of the TV thing and Ashley thinks she is doing exactly what they say then falls then laughs and does it again, but it's time together...nothing but quality.

Today is the day the McElwain clan of Littleton turn over a new leaf. Trying to eat much better food...all the junk went in the trash last night.....and get our bodies moving. I have 10-15lbs to go. Andy has his goal and I want to see the kids worn out everyday!!! I'll keep you posted on how it goes and apologize now for all the complaining. Andy is going to be miserable. He is convinced he will starve to death (God forbid you only put 2 teaspoons of cream cheese on a bagel). Oh well, this too shall pass and as long as it doesn't cause divorce we will all be healthier in the long run......

"The best six doctors anywhere and no one can deny it Are sunshine, water, rest, and air Exercise and diet. These six will gladly you attend If only you are willing Your mind they'll ease Your will they'll mend And charge you not a shilling."
