Best New TV Show for 2008...so far...

New Amsterdam is new, exciting, and tests your memory and ability to pay attention to detail. This is about a man who is 400 years old and has been living in search for the love of his life. Once she is found and only then will he start to grow old... with her. Old spellbound fairytale romance brought right into the 21st century. This is a man that has watched everyone in his life grow old and die, but sharing his secret with his son (who by the way is twice his age and the only person who can conceivably believe his tales). He has been an alcoholic (who wouldn't after the things he's lived through), he has been a husband, father, and friend to any variety of person you could imagine. Amsterdam uses these experiences to be an effective, intuitive, and spot on detective and also to convey mystery, sexiness, and romance to his female cast members. Through out the show we live in the present with flashbacks from his past, anywhere in the last 400 years, where he has learned this lesson before and takes down the bad guys from them and sometimes even his own past mistakes or crimes. I have been watching since episode one and the characters have grown to fit together and have amazing timing and rhetoric. I usually have a hard time committing my weekly prime time line up to new shows, but New Amsterdam slide right in perfectly!! Highly recommended!
